About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Equipment Maintenance & Repair Technician / Tree Pick-Up and Delivery Driver to support our operations.

 

This role requires a diverse skill set, including equipment maintenance, repair, logistics, and field support. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and capable of responding to on-the-fly maintenance requirements while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

The position is part time based out of Whitecourt, Alberta from April 15 - September 30, 2025.

 

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance and Repair:

● Perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment as assigned by Equipment Managers.

● Keep the workshop clean, organized, and stocked with tools necessary for operational needs.

● Conduct and log pre-trip inspections for all vehicles and equipment scheduled for field use.

● Maintain accurate electronic records of all equipment maintenance, including work orders, receipts, and tag-out logs.

● Ensure that the work truck is always stocked with tools and ready for field repairs.

● Provide updates via the equipment Slack channel regarding maintenance status and task assignments.

● Assist field staff with on-site repairs, equipment deliveries, and other operational needs.

● Support preseason preparation by ensuring vehicles and equipment meet mechanical and structural standards.

● Aid in compliance by working alongside the Safety Lead for preseason and postseason checklists.

● Conduct off-season inspections and repairs to maintain all vehicles and equipment in optimal condition.

● Assist in end-of-season shutdowns, ensuring safe storage and winterization of equipment.

 

Tree Pick-Up and Delivery Driver Responsibilities:

● Operate company vehicles and trailers safely and in compliance with transportation laws.

● Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting any mechanical issues promptly.

● Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate last-minute operational changes.

● Verify all pickups and deliveries, ensuring accuracy and communicating any discrepancies to the Administration Manager.

● Maintain accurate electronic logs of all pickup slips for project tracking.

● Ensure deliveries and pickups are completed on time and documented properly.

● Use respectful and professional language in all interactions with Equipment Managers, field staff, and leadership.

● Report any potential conflicts or workplace concerns to the appropriate channels.

● Demonstrate inclusivity and fairness in supporting all field staff during maintenance and repairs.

● Provide and receive feedback professionally, maintaining a cooperative and solutions-focused approach.

● Adhere to the decision-making structure and operational boundaries set by Equipment Managers and leadership.

● Represent the company with professionalism when interacting with vendors, partners, and external stakeholders.

● Maintain a positive and neutral demeanor in all workplace communications, even in high-pressure situations.

Certifications & Experience:

Qualifications & Requirements

● Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

● Experience in vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair, or a related field.

● Ability to operate trucks and trailers safely and efficiently.

● Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently under minimal supervision.

● Familiarity with logging and maintaining electronic maintenance records.

● Ability to lift and transport heavy tools and equipment as needed.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

● Ability to adapt to changing schedules and operational needs.

● Collection of tools for rent by the company.
